1 idiot and 3 lamb chops

I am such an idiot. Seriously, I really am an idiot. I mean, what sort of person, other than an idiot decides to cook 3 lamb chops but no vegetables because they're not actually that hungry? Then, when it's too late to cook vegetables, decide that they are indeed extremely hungry and so polish off a whole Green & Black's 100g bar of dark chocolate plus 4 jammy dodgers and then decide that they're too full for the lamb chops and leave them on the side instead and go to the loo. Whilst in the loo they decide that they are, in fact, still extremely hungry and can't think of anything they'd rather eat more than 3 lamb chops only to discover that on re-entering the kitchen, the lamb chops are being salivated over by the cat.

Told you I was an idiot.

  1. Been there. Only it had been eaten by the dog. What are you plans for supper now? I think I went for pringles and tv. How does anyone think I am responsible enough to be in charge of feeding 2 small children?

  3. My cat once took a whole slice of ham off my dinner plate, when I'd turned my back. She left the salad though. Tsk. x

  5. Sorry - I removed my own post as my spelling was dreadful! It now looks like I said something rude!

What I meant to say was...???? Oh god, I cant remember.

  6. BiB - A bit more chocolate and a few more jammy dodgers were all that was needed to console me ;-)

Laura - Glad you laughed. I'm sure I will tomorrow!!

Kitty - Isn't it annoying? I should have known...

RM - I forgive you for messing up my comments (makes me look more popular)!! Yeah I've got greedy cats, greedy children. I'm normally quicker...think I need some sleep!

  7. Yep done that, well not exactly that, but definitely along those lines lol. Now did the cat actually get the lamb chops or only drooled over them :)

  8. MGM - Should have made it more clear - cat was eating them!!! Nice...

  9. My cat ate my pizza once. In a state of desperation I told myself that she had only licked the one side and it was still ok to eat. Is that wrong?

I'm sorry about your lamb chops, I hate food dissapointment.

  10. Sounds perfectly normal to me! Hmm except maybe the "jammy dodgers"? Don't know what those are but I am intrigued??

  12. Yikes! My cat might be hungry (he will eat the leftovers in the dog's bowl, but I've never seen him try to eat people food leftovers!

  13. Marathoner - No that isn't wrong at all (at least not in my book). If the cat had just licked them I probably would have rinsed them under the tap and thought nothing more of it - unfortunately (and I perhaps didn't make this clear enough - she was tucking into them good and proper). Boo hoo :-((

MM - Ooh Jammy Dodgers are very old school. My husband bought them and I kind of turned my nose up at them a little - that was until I ate them and remembered what they tasted like!! They're biscuit rings with some sort of red jam inside. Extremely moorish!! ;-))

MM - Thanks! I may laugh about it tomorrow!

Elizabeth - Normally the cat is very well-behaved so I was a tad surprised - either I've been starving her or the lamb chops were particularly enticing (unfortunately I think it was the latter)!!

  14. Snort. Could you wash them?? OR, eat the cat's food. That'll teach him/her. Blimey I have such good ideas sometimes. No need to thank me.

  15. You should get a cooking show on TV. I would have loved to see that! :-D

  16. Jo - Now why didn't I think of that?? You're just too clever! No, actually I would have done - I was that hungry - but really, they'd all been chewed up. Not pleasant!

    MM - Now there's an idea!! x

  17. Oh hun, what bad luck. Actually, so long as lamb chops weren't actually in Cat's tummy, I think I would have retrieved the unmauled ones, rinsed under tap and tucked in! Does that mean my standards are slipping?

  18. Mamma Po - yes quite possibly your standards are slipping - although I'm not sure how high your standards used to be, so it's quite hard to comment!! But, believe me, I would have rinsed them under the tap if that had been a possibility in any way (it was not). :-((

  19. Yum yum, miaow, miaow.
Mr Grigg is cooking fish plaki. It has taken so long, we've got the peanuts out. .

  20. You see - that's the problem!! Sometimes you need food right here, right now and if it doesn't come then you have to munch on something else and the main spectacle is ruined...I hope the fish plaki is worth waiting for!!
